About SSDA

The Sriniketan Santiniketan Development Authority (SSDA) is the apex planning and development body for the Sriniketan Santiniketan Planning Area (SSPA), notified under the West Bengal Town & Country (Planning & Development) Act, 1979.

Spanning approximately 108.08 sq.km across 44 mouzas under Bolpur Police Station in Birbhum district, SSDA coordinates urban planning, land-use regulation and infrastructure development — while safeguarding the world-renowned cultural and educational heritage of Santiniketan and Visva-Bharati.

Our Mission. To foster planned, sustainable growth in the SSPA region while honouring the educational and cultural legacy of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.
